We are in Helensvale with the family for a few days. Frank is over near Paradise point catching fish (not).
The Ross River is giving me some grief and we will be staying until I feel a bit better. Would like to play some bowls and might head down to Helensvale Club tomorrow and try a few ends.

Moonbi Lookout

Left Mendooran this morning heading to Tamworth.
Took some photos of the murals on the shops yesterday.
Made our way through Coonabarbran then onto Tamworth, about 30k's Tamworth I had had enough so we parked at the Moonbi Lookout. All I can say is wow...once we had cleaned up the mess left by some before us we checked out the views and set up

Toilets are basic there is fireplaces and rubbish bins. Large flat gravel area to park, bit of a climb to get here and road is narrow but all vehicles handled it easily. BBQ is on drink in hand what could be better.

Mendooran

Stayed around in Dubbo waiting for mail to arrive, which it didn't so we have headed off this morning.and Dubbo PO are going to forward it on to Tamworth. Hats off to Dubbo Sporties for looking after us so well, we played yesterday to give the ladies playing pennant finals some practice  good luck girls hope you go well. Traveled to Mendooran which is the oldest town on the Castlereagh River, great rest area there.  We got set up just before the heavens opened and down came some much needed rain. Very popular spot and at last count there were fifteen campers, caravans and motor homes here with more arriving all the time. The town is famous for its murals painted on the local shops so will get some photos tomorrow when the rain stops.

Yarrawonga to Dubbo

We eventually got to Yarrawonga last Thursday afternoon, had a practice at the club then parked out the road. Freezing the next morning and we both have the flu which together with  my Ross River coming back to bite me after 10+ years is making life miserable.
Forgettable weekend of bowls and we spent last two nights in the caravan park so we could have a heater running. Set our for Dubbo Sunday morning and got here about 3.00pm.
What a great place Dubbo Sporties Railway Bowling Club is, could not make us more welcome and we will be here to Saturday. Hoping to feel better later in the week so I can go and check out the zoo while the boys are bowling. Food here is amazing, restaurant offers $12.50 all you can eat lunches with seafood, Chinese roasts soup and sweets, you have have some or a bit of each whatever you like.. I have had to bar myself. Greens are running 14.5 to 16. Still not sure whether we will head to the coast or keep heading north towards Goondawindi, will depend on how we feeling by Saturday.
